A COMMUNITY open day will be held on Wednesday at the Potteries Community Centre in Weston.

The event will provide information and advice services to the community and give residents a chance to meet each other.

Held at the centre in Langford Road from 3.30pm to 5pm, it has been organised by North Somerset Council's community development team and the South Ward Neighbourhood Management Team.

People will be able to get information, advice and guidance on a range of issues, talk and meet informally with their neighbours, give their views and comments on what they want to see happen in their area in future and get involved in influencing services and making things happen.

Organisations attending include North Somerset Citizens' Advice Bureau, North Somerset Council community learning service, mobile library service, Oldmixon DIY project, councillors and police officers.

Refreshments will be provided by South Weston Community Association and there will be a children's colouring corner with Barnardos, featuring The Big Draw.
