Praise for Weston care home's 'caring' staff

A WESTON care home has been recorded as safe and caring following an inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Gardenia Court Nursing Home, in Uphill Road North, was inspected at the end of February and the CQC revealed its findings this week.
The home has been marked as requiring improvement overall because of some incomplete paperwork which is required to mare care legislation.
But it was otherwise largely praised by inspectors, the 23 people living there and relatives of the home’s residents.
The report, which is available on the CQC’s website, said: “People told us they felt safe and staff told us how they would report any safeguarding concerns internally or externally.
“We spoke with staff who told us there were sufficient staff numbers to enable them to perform their roles effectively.
“No concerns were raised by people or their relatives about the numbers of staff on duty.
“The home was clean and there were appropriate measures in operation to reduce the risk of cross infection.”
The report also said residents liked the quality of food on offer.
