CHILDREN at a village primary school showed their generous spirit after collecting hundreds of food items to help a Weston charity feed the hungry.
Youngsters from year five at Hutton Church of England Primary School decided they wanted to do something to help out Weston Foodbank, based in North Street.
With help from their parents, the children aged nine and 10 gathered more than 500 items to give to the charity.
The non-perishable goods, including tinned fruit and packets of biscuits, will be handed over to the foodbank, which will then redistribute them across Weston to families who struggle to afford meals.
