TWO Priory Community School pupils are kicking their way to the top of their game.

Jake Caulfield, of Market Avenue in St Georges and Joe Gadd, who lives in Upper Bristol Road in Weston, both aged 14, have been selected to play rugby for The Bristol Academy.

School principal Neville Coles said: "Both Jake and Joe are exceptional rugby players.

"However, what has really pleased us about their selections is the way in which they have been commended on their attitude and sportsmanship.

"This is fantastic for the parents, school, PE department and our local rugby clubs who have clearly instilled in these fine young men a real sense of being confident and responsible individuals, with a real sense of 'fair play'.

"When I spoke to The Bristol Academy director he said that he suspected as much and could see what fine representatives for Priory Community School and Weston these young men would be."

The Bristol Rugby Academy was established in 1999. It has produced one of the most dominant rugby teams in the UK in the form of the under 21s team, which won the league for three consecutive years. The under 19s also made it through to the national cup final.
