A DAIRY has won an award just three months after it opened in North Somerset.
Trethowans Dairy, based at Puxton Park, has been given the Supergold Medal in the World Cheese Awards, having moved from West Wales to North Somerset last summer.
It means its Caerphilly cheese is regarded as being in the top 62 cheeses in the world.
Cheese-maker Todd Trethowan said: “The move was a mighty effort and it’s reassuring to know that it isn’t just us who think the cheese is better than ever.
“We are delighted with every aspect of the new dairy, from the wonderful milk through to the humidity control of our store rooms where the cheese matures.”
