A FORMER pub in Banwell could be replaced by a retirement cottages.

A planning application has been submitted to North Somerset Council to turn the former Whistling Duck pub in Knightcott Road into eight homes.

The pub has been vacant for more than a year, and should the application be successful it will be demolished and replaced with eight homes and garaging.

Outline permission for eight retirement cottages was granted in September 2010, and the applicant and site owner, Mr D Cronk, should hear by July 3 if his application has been successful.
