MANAGERS of a pub in Lympsham are hoping to open up a hotel by the end of the year.Planning permission has been granted to build a two-storey extension to the south of The Hobbs Boat, which will house 24 bedrooms and a lobby.Building work is due to start in two weeks' time and it is expected to be finished by January. The pub itself is also undergoing a major makeover and will be closed for about four weeks in October.The venue, on the A370 Bridgwater Road, which is owned by the Whitbread, will be getting new lighting and more modern decor as well as a new menu with specialist dishes.General manager Sara Kimber said: "We're really looking forward to it. There's a real demand for a hotel in the area.
