A GRADE II-listed pub is up for sale.
The Mercury reported in January that the Bell Inn in the centre of Banwell closed at the end of 2011.
Local couple Gary White and Karly Ivison bought the pub in The Square in October 2009, but they took the decision to close it shortly before Christmas.
Now Mr White has decided to sell the business and agents Christie and Co is marketing the former coaching inn for the price of £250,000 plus VAT.
The firm says the pub would suit a local operator interested in re-opening it as an inn, although it does say that an alternative could be converting it into residential accommodation.
Nicholas Calfe, from Christie and Co’s Bristol office, said: “The Bell Inn is a substantial property at a reasonable asking price, especially considering its picturesque location.
“It provides an excellent opportunity for buyers looking for a property with potential alternative uses; such as residential or letting accommodation.
“Those interested might also include anyone wishing to reopen this once-loved pub, revive its place in the local community and re-establish its customer base.”
