THERE must be something special in the tea at Pumpkin in Wedmore, as both owners are pregnant. Mums-to-be Alex Relf, aged 35, and Polly Costello, aged 37, are joint owners of the delicatessen and cafe and they are also sisters-in-law. Alex said: "Customers have asked us if there is something in the tea or something we are serving that has made us both pregnant."Polly found out she was pregnant in July, and she and husband Michael are looking forward to the birth of their first child. Alex already has two young children with her husband Jonathan, Polly's brother, and is looking forward to her new addition. She said: "We didn't plan to get pregnant together, but I am sure there will be a family celebration with the new arrivals. "I am due on April 30, and Polly on March 24 so the babies will be born quite close together. We'll still be open as usual though and I am sure the staff will look after Pumpkin whilst we are away."Polly and Jonathan met Michael and Alex in London and became firm friends before moving to Somerset. Polly, who lives in Wedmore, and Alex, who lives in Blackford, opened their business over three years ago after agreeing there was nothing like it in the area. Alex knows the sex of the baby but is keeping quiet, while Polly has decided she wants it to be a surprise.
