GREENFINGERED youngsters in Backwell have been doing their bit for the local environment.Students from Backwell Junior School joined forces with members of Backwell Playing Fields Charity and local police to plant shrubs and hundreds of bulbs at the village recreation field. Backwell community police officer PC Greig Difford said: "We carried out the planting last year as well and when we asked the school if they wanted to get involved again they jumped at the chance."If we can generate an interest in children in caring about the environment when they are young they will respect it more as they grow older.
