A Planning decision is set to be made next week which could shape the future of a popular family entertainment park.
The owners of Puxton Park, in Hewish, will find out at North Somerset Council’s planning committee meeting on Wednesday whether councillors will grant approval for more than 100 holiday lodges to be built within its grounds.
The park has previously said the creation of 120 lodges would generate 20 new jobs, and would provide a much-needed boost to tourism.
However, the application has also come under scrutiny, with Banwell Parish Council formally objecting to the proposals.
Nearby residents have also objected, with Joanna Tinsley saying: “The land around here is extremely prone to flooding. The network of ditches and rhynes barely cope at the moment and the inclusion of 100-plus lodges in the landscape can only worsen the problem.”
