A FAMILY attraction recorded its highest visitor numbers during the Easter holidays.

Puxton Park, in Cowslip Lane in Hewish, welcomed more than 25,000 people through its doors during the fortnight.

Its busiest day came on Easter Monday, when 2,000 people visited and bosses put the numbers down to the good weather.

Puxton’s managing director, Alistair Mead, said: “We are delighted to have recorded our busiest ever week in Puxton’s history, which demonstrates families are choosing to stay at home rather than going abroad.

“We are pulling visitors from all over the UK, which is fantastic news and we hope that the hot weather will help boost the tourism industry as a whole in the West Country.”
