FOUR youngsters from Weare have been presented with the highest guiding award.Alana Bullock, Jessica Bull, Jessica Gamlin and Alice Gilling were given their Baden Powell Awards at a special presentation evening.The members of 1st Weare Guides had to take part in an adventure weekend, achieve at least two challenge badges and two interest badges to achieve the accolade.The challenges included organising a cooking competition, getting fit, putting on an activity for youngsters or a sponsored sporting event, giving a presentation on a global issue and taking up a new hobby.All four girls will be continuing as guides, but as senior section members.The youngsters also presented their guiders, Ros Prince and Sally Hansford, with a gift to thank them for their help in achieving the award.* Pictured: Alice, Jess, Jessica and Alana.
