THE union jacks were flying high as the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh pulled into Yatton Station in the royal train.Hundreds of people gathered in the rain to welcome the couple, just one minute ahead of schedule, to North Somerset.Children, grandparents and pensioners all waited excitedly for a glimpse of Her Majesty, some having camped out since 8am that morning. The Queen, dressed in a light green outfit with matching green and pink hat, black shoes and black handbag, spoke to a policeman as she walked out of the station and then took flowers from awe-struck youngsters who had been picked from the crowd. The Duke of Edinburgh, dressed in a long beige rain coat and dark trousers for the occasion, stood dutifully by her side and even asked one of the mothers if the station's plant pots belonged to her.Weston Sea Cadets entertained the waiting crowds who cheered as the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh appeared and gave everyone a wave before setting off to Blagdon in their burgundy Rolls Royce.
