ENTRIES are now being accepted for one of Weston's biggest annual charity fundraisers, the Race For Life.

Cancer Research’s women-only 5k run will take place on the beach and promenade on the evening of July 8, though people can begin signing up this week.

Maxine Bateman, the Weston event manager, said: “Race for Life is non-competitive. It’s not about being fit or fast. Most women are able to walk 5k in an hour while chatting and having fun.

“The atmosphere is electric, our participants are so inspiring and we’re calling on the women of Weston to help make 2015 our best year yet.”

Last year, 1,433 Weston women raised £79,189 and organisers hope to get close to those totals again.

To enter, log on to raceforlife.org or call 03001 230770.
