A pair of hospital radio volunteers from Weston were recognised at the national association's awards evening this week.

Laura Tremelling and Marcus Tripp received a bronze title at the Hospital Broadcasting Awards in Watford, in the best speech package category, for their entry titled Swooping In And Saving Lives, which tracked the work of the Great Western Air Ambulance.

Mr Tripp told the Mercury: “I’m delighted and astounded the programme we put together for the patients in Weston General Hospital has received recognition at a national level.

“It makes me incredibly proud of the whole team at Sunshine.”
