A NATIONAL newspaper is campaigning for RAF Locking to be turned into a prison camp to prevent 50,000 criminals being released early.Shadow Home Secretary David Davis has given his backing to The Sun's campaign to transform 16 empty Ministry of Defence bases to maximum security camps.The 200-acre site in Locking was closed in 1998 and has been earmarked by North Somerset Council for homes and businesses.The move comes after it was revealed up to 50,000 prisoners would be freed early in a bid to solve Britain's jail overcrowding crisis.
