The Race For Life is one of Weston-super-Mare’s most popular fundraising events, and although it may be raining that surely won’t stop hundreds of women from taking to the Beach Lawns and seafront tonight (Wednesday).

Race For Life is organised by Cancer Research UK, and invites mums, daughters, sisters and grandmothers to come together to beat cancer.

The weather for tonight’s event, which starts at 7.30pm, is currently overcast, with the possibility of rain.

But if previous years are anything to go by, a bit of wet weather will not dampen the spirits of the hundreds of women who have signed up.

The 5k route will include the beach, Promenade and Grand Pier, and the women taking part will all be wearing pink for the challenge.

Friends and family are invited to go along and support those taking part, and Cancer Research UK will have stalls for people to browse.
