Milton District Girlguiding put on the celebration for 40 rainbows to mark the movement’s creation.

The children played games, made crafts, sang songs and tucked into a cake with a mermaid theme. They were each also presented with a badge to commemorate the event.

Milton district commissioner Nicola Paice said: “Milton District Girlguiding held a birthday party for 40 rainbows to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the introduction of rainbows to Girlguiding UK.

“We are always looking for more leaders to join us and experience what is a very rewarding volunteer role.”

Rainbows is for girls aged five to seven and members learn through sports, arts, crafts, games, trips and fun.
