HUNDREDS of rainbows descended on Puxton Park over the weekend to celebrate the youth movement's 25th anniversary.

More than 500 youngsters from North Somerset and Weston visited the park in Hewish on Saturday and Sunday to celebrate the organisation’s birthday.

They completed a host of activities in the four areas of the rainbow jigsaw and a special 25th anniversary section, while also being given tours of the dairy and park, tractors rides and having a chance to meet the park’s animals.

Somerset North rainbow adviser Lucy Cowgill said: “We chose Puxton Park as the venue for our celebrations as the park has so much for the Rainbows to see and do there.

“The Rainbows all really enjoyed the day.”

One of the park’s newest additions – a baby pig – was named Rainbow in honour of the occasion.
