A five-year-old girl, who wanted to be like Rapunzel, has had her much-loved locks cut to help children with serious illnesses.

Seren Anthwal said she was ‘nervous’ ahead of the charitable deed but had approximately nine inches of her hair cut off at The Green Room hairdressers in Bristol in mid-August.

Seren, who lives in Yatton, was inspired to help the Little Princess Trust – a charity which makes wigs for children with cancer.

In addition to donating her hair, she has also raised over £500 for the charity through an online donation site.

This money can then be used to buy wigs if the charity cannot have one made for a sick child.
