A CLEVEDON teenager is celebrating after swimming the Bristol Channel.Gary Carpenter, aged 16, is believed to be the youngest person to make the 18-mile crossing between Clevedon and Penarth.He set off from South Wales on Bank Holiday Sunday and arrived in Clevedon after five hours 35 minutes.The teenager is hoping to raise £50,000 from the swim for Children's Hospice South West which opened its second hospice at Charlton Farm, Wraxall in April.
