RUNNERS swapped the pitch for the pavement as 11 members of the Weston and District Referees’ Society ran an annual fun run in aid of Weston Hospicecare.
The group ran a three-mile circular route at Weston St John’s Football Club dressed in their referee kit.
The society’s president, Eddie Hughes said: “Each year we choose a charity to raise money for.
“Due to friends and family having cancer, my wife and I have been involved with the hospice and have witnessed firsthand all the amazing work they do.
“Most of our society has been affected by the loss of a loved one in some way and we realise that organisations like the hospice rely on local people for vital funds so we wanted to help as much as we can.”
The society is hoping to raise £800 from the event.
