Refurbishment to church underway in Burnham-on-Sea

Work has started this week to revamp the inside of a Burnham church.
St Andrew’s Church, in Victoria Street, is undergoing improvements for the first time in 40 years.
The church is set to be closed while the work is completed but Sunday worship will take place in the church hall at 8am and 10am each week.
Building company Ellis has taken on the project as it specialises in the conservation of ancient buildings.
The lighting and decor inside the church will be improved as a result of the work.
Other churches in the surrounding area have offered a number of their spaces for funerals.
The church will re-open in May.
