PEOPLE wanting to remember former Clevedon councillor and marine lake campaigner Arthur Knott are being invited to make a donation to his beloved MARLENS group.Mr Knott set up the Marine Lake Enthusiasts Society four years ago in a bid to raise funds to improve the seafront attraction. Now, following his death last month, his family are asking those who wish to make a donation in memory of Arthur to give to MARLENS.The family said: "We have had many enquiries about where we would like donations to be sent."Our initial response was that we would not name any charity, but since so many people have asked, we have decided that any donations should go to MARLENS which was his favourite project for the past few years."It is certainly where he would have wanted donations to go and is of immediate benefit to the young people of Clevedon."Mr Knott's funeral took place on Wednesday at Christchurch.Anyone wishing to make a donation in his memory can send it to MARLENS treasurer Lynne Lamb, 19 Woodview, Clevedon, BS21 6YH.Cheques should be made payable to MARLENS.
