Somerset’s fire crews came to the rescue of a cow yesterday (Sunday) after the animal became trapped in tidal water.

Teams from Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service were called to Diamond Farm, in Weston Road in Brean, at about 4pm yesterday to rescue the animal.

The cow managed to swim to an area where crews were able to safely attach water safety equipment to it, meaning they were then able to secure and safely rescue the animal from the water.
