Reservoir project 'not abandoned'

BRISTOL Water has one month left to decide whether to review a decision not to provide funding for a reservoir.
Bristol Water wanted to build a second £100,000 reservoir in Cheddar.
But it needed investment funding from the water regulator Ofwat, which has not allowed any spending on the reservoir project.
Project spokesman Jeremy Williams said: “People have just assumed that’s the end of the matter.
“Variously, people are saying it’s been ‘abandoned’, ‘cancelled’, ‘dumped’, ‘will not being going ahead for at least five years’ etc.
“Actually, no decision has yet been taken on either abandoning or delaying the reservoir.
“Bristol Water has not yet decided whether to accept the regulator’s decision on its overall investment and business plan, of which the reservoir was just one part, or ask for it to be referred to the Competition and Markets Authority for review.”
