RESIDENTS in Hutton are being urged to write to mail bosses in an effort to keep the village's post office open.
Hutton Parish Council will be leafleting villagers asking them to write directly to Post Office managing director Alan Cook.
The move comes after fears the village's post office, in Main Road, might be one of 2,500 to be closed by 2008 as part of cost-cutting measures.
