CLOSE to £20,000 has been handed out to a clutch of Somerset charities, thanks to year-long fund-raising at one holiday resort.

Brean Leisure Park has hosted a succession of charity events, including golf tournaments, pig and donkey races, walks, raffles, music nights and more.

Among those to benefit were Burnham Sea Cadets, Breast Cancer Awareness, the Alzheimer’s Society, BARB, the air ambulance and St Margaret’s Hospice.

Pictured are recipients of the latest donation, Burnham’s St John Ambulance, whose members received £3,440 raised through the popular summer race nights.
