POLICE have joined forces with firefighters and community crimebusters to launch an appeal for information following a spate of arson attacks in Clevedon.Police Community Support Officer Elle French has teamed up with Avon and Somerset Fire Brigade and the town's Neighbourhood Watch group to offer a reward of £125 for information after a number of deliberate fires.Blazes have been deliberately started in hedgerows, rubbish bins and skips over the last few months and PCSO French hopes the offer of a reward will bring forward vital information about the culprits. The posters will now be put up around local schools and shops.PCSO French said: "There have been about half a dozen incidents of this type of arson over the last few months."Fortunately there have been no injuries as a result of these fires but that is because the fire brigade has got there in time."However the fires had the potential to be far more serious as they were set close to properties."Anyone with information is asked to contact the police via Crimestoppers or pop into Clevedon Police Station at Queens Road.Pictured is PCSO Elle French with a copy of the poster which is being put up around the town and in local schools.
