Richard tackles tightrope cliff challenge

A WESTON-SUPER-MARE man who admits to lacking a 'head for heights' has completed a sponsored 120ft tightrope walk between two cliffs in Cornwall.
Richard Oliver took part in the challenge on Sunday to raise money for Parkinson’s UK. He decided to tackle the tightrope after completing a charity skydive last year.
Richard said: “After my skydive I was asked what I would do next and, foolishly, I jokingly said I may do a tightrope walk across Cheddar Gorge – knowing full well this would never happen.
“I was then challenged to take on this tightrope walk and I really do not have a head for heights.
“But I did it because I want to raise awareness of the disease and raise money to fund research for a cure.
“Every hour a person in the UK is diagnosed with Parkinson’s, with about one in 20 people being under the age of 40 years.”
You can still donate to Richard’s fundraising online via his JustGiving page.
