THE coast rescue team (CRT) from Weston-super-Mare and the RNLI were called to rescue two kite-surfers this morning (Monday).

The coastguard received reports of two kite-surfers who appeared to be in trouble at around 10.50am.

A spokesman from the coastguard said: “The two kite-surfers looked like they were both in difficulties so we got the team out.”

The pair were spotted by Weston Seafront rangers and the town’s CRT attended the scene alongside two of Weston RNLI’s boats.

The coastguard’s spokesman said: “They were both successfully brought to shore. They were just cold and a bit tired.”
