THREE fundraisers have been given awards for their work with Weston's RNLI.

Former crew member Ashleigh Holtby, nurse Judy Massa from the fundraising team and Lifeboat Managing Group chairman Don Sutherland were all recognised for their contributions to the life-saving charity.

They have all been helping the RNLI with it’s £300,000 appeal to build a new lifeboat station in the town.

Ashleigh and Judy both received a certificate of thanks at the Lifeboat College in Poole.

Don helps to co-ordinate activities between the lifeboat crew and fundraisers and was instrumental in organising the Duke of Kent’s visit to Weston in May.

He was presented with the bronze badge.

Weston’s fundraising chairman Peter Elmont said: “Having such dedicated helpers make fundraising so much easier.

“They all give as much as they can. While we have such an important appeal underway for a new boathouse they will help us achieve our target.”
