The town’s RNLI team were called just after 7.30pm when the pair capsized their dinghy.

When the D-class lifeboat arrived at the scene, the crew found the small boat half submerged in the water.

The woman was onboard a speedboat, which had stopped to help, while the man was floating in the water with the dinghy.

The speedboat took the woman – who was extremely cold – back to Knightstone Island where the RNLI shore crew and paramedics were waiting to care for her.

The crew brought the man onboard the lifeboat and successfully secured the boat and transported it to the shore.
