USUALLY they are the ones doing the rescuing - but an RNLI lifeboat found itself on the receiving end of the wrath of Weston's tides when it capsized and had to call for help.

After rescuing a struggling kitesurfer, the boat’s crew began a routine training exercise yesterday morning (Sun).

The crew was caught off guard and struck by a wave which overturned it.

It was righted again, but the again failed to start and the crew had to ask the other lifeboat for help.

The boat’s engine dried out and was used in another rescue later in the day.
