The RNLI's shop in Weston-super-Mare has had its licence extended for three more years.

The shop, based at Anchor Head in Marine Parade, sells memorabilia to raise money for the RNLI.

North Somerset Council has renewed the shop’s lease for another three years.

The shop has played a vital role in the charity’s fundraising efforts to build a new lifeboat station.

Between March 2015 and March 2016, people bought £48,287-worth of souvenirs at the shop, giving the RNLI a £28,489 profit.

The town’s RNLI has reached a fundraising total of £500,000 and is currently assessing where a station can be built in Weston.
