A VIDEO of Weston's RNLI crew has been watched more than 6,400 times on a popular website. The footage, filmed and produced by crew members, has been posted on You Tube, a site which allows anyone to upload video footage to share with those visiting the site.It follows the volunteers on board their boats and in a rescue helicopter, as well as in the lifeboat station at the end of Birnbeck Pier. The Weston branch, which celebrated its 125th anniversary on Monday, had a very quiet summer this year in terms of the number of times its boats were launched and how many people had to be assisted on beaches.Crew member Liam McDermott said: "The fact that our station was not listed as one of the busiest in the South West this summer hopefully means we are doing our job well."We do try to educate the public about the dangers of the sea and sand."We had hardly any calls to help people stuck on mud flats, which is normally a big problem for us."To watch the video footage go to www.youtube.com/user/westonrnli * Pictured: Scott Lincoln, Jennie Williams and Nigel Congram.
