A NUMBER of road and lane closures will affect drivers in Weston over the coming weeks.
Some disruption for motorists is needed to complete the £15million Weston Package road improvements scheme.
The much-maligned Winterstoke Road roundabout roadworks will continue for another six weeks while closures are required on surrounding roads.
A two-day closure of the right-hand lane on Marchfields Way will start on Monday, to allow a filter lane into the retail park to be built.
A week-long night-time road closure of the roundabout where the A370 meets Drove Road will start on September 23.
The following week, from September 30, one lane of Winterstoke Road will be shut for four days between 8am-6pm as part of resurfacing work.
The Weston Package scheme, funded by the Department for Transport and North Somerset Council, also includes widening the roundabout at junction 21 of the M5 and a new car park at Worle Parkway railway station.
A council spokesman said roadwork plans could change nearer the time depending on whether there are unforeseen issues or work is completed quicker than anticipated.
