An £800,000 programme of surface dressing - which helps to prevent potholes - will take place across 26 miles of North Somerset's roads this month.
The week-long programme will begin on Thursday and includes roads such as Locking Road and South Road in Weston, Queensway in Worle and the A370 between Congresbury and Backwell.
South Road will be closed on Thursday for works. Locking Road will operate on a ‘stop-and-go’ board system while roadworks are carried out on August 14, while Queensway will be closed on this date.
The council’s executive member for highways, Elfan Ap Rees, said: “Treating the roads in this way extends the life of a road surface by up to 10 years and makes it safer to drive on by enhancing the skid resistance.”
