POLICE are appealing for information after a man was robbed after a night out clubbing in Clevedon. Two men had been out for the evening at Vibe nightclub and as they left the bar were discussing how to get home.Although they had driven to the venue, they had both been drinking and did not want to drive home.A group of four men approached them and asked them for a lift, then offered to drive the car for the owner. The owner and his friend agreed. All six then got into the car and drove along Nailsea Wall Lane when the driver suddenly stopped. Both men were then pulled from the vehicle, kicked and punched and their assailants then made off on foot with the car owner's wallet. The vehicle was also damaged with the windscreen smashed.Police and ambulance crews were called and took the 39-year-old car owner to hospital for treatment to a black eye, swollen lip, loosened teeth and a badly bruised back. The other man, aged 35, also received cuts and bruises. The assailants were all described as white and aged between 20 and 30. The man who drove the car was described as having short, blonde hair and a chubby face.Anyone with information about the incident, which took place in the early hours of September 10, is being urged to contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
