A MEMBER of the Royal Family has opened a new £1million resource centre in Weston for North Somerset residents.The Duke of Gloucester toured the Badger Centre in Wadham Street this week, the new base of a host of voluntary organisations such as North Somerset Citizens' Advice Bureau.He marked the occasion by unveiling a plaque and meeting the groups based in the building, which was formerly the Heritage Centre.The site is home to Voluntary Action North Somerset, which supports voluntary organisations in the district, and the Somerset Racial Equality Council. Meeting rooms are also available for community groups and organisations.Quartet Community Foundation, a charity which supports community organisations, owns the prominent Victorian building and will also have a base there. It raised around £1million for the massive refurbishment project.
