SOME rubbish collections have proved impossible today (Mon).

North Somerset Council announced that services would resume as usual, but collectors were unable to get to about 15 per cent of the properties they initially intended to.

The unitary authority says the roads were inaccessible and that residents expecting a collection today and who did not get one should leave their rubbish out and it will be picked up as soon as possible.

Others are being asked to put their refuse or recycling out on the normal day.

Recycling centres in Weston, Portishead and Backwell were open as usual today.
