HORNETS Rugby Football Club has raised hundreds of pounds for a children’s charity.
The Weston side has been fundraising throughout the 2014-15 campaign in aid of Action For Children.
It is the fifth year the club has supported the Yatton-based charity and has held parties for it as its Hutton Moor Road clubhouse.
Brad Speller, Hornets’ vice-chairman, handed over a £775 cheque to the charity for it to spend on activities and day trips for young disabled people.
Trisha Chenoweth, a family support practitioner for Action for Children and also member of the Hornets RFC, said: “I have been overwhelmed by the enthusiastic support we have received from everyone at Hornets. Their kindness will help us give disabled children living in North Somerset some great activities and days out.”
