A BUDDING John Motson from Burnham enjoyed the time of his life as he commentated on one of the biggest games in the football calendar.

Samuel Harkness, aged 14, provided punditry on the Championship final between Reading and Swansea on Monday alongside former England manager Kevin Keegan, an experience he described as ‘absolutely fantastic’.

Having won the nPower What’s Your Goal? competition, the King Alfred Secondary School pupil co-presented a Football Focus-style programme with past Liverpool star Keegan and TV presenter Kevin Price, before summarising the match for BBC Radio Somerset and using his press pass to interview a few of the victorious Swansea players.

The youngster, from Bathurst Close, said: “It was so much better than I had imagined, it was phenomenal.

“The best bit wasn’t even learning from someone like Kevin, the whole atmosphere there was amazing.”
