A WESTON estate agents has helped the RNLI to raise close to £5,000 this year, prompting the business to list it to benefit as its chosen charity once again for 2015.

Saxons Estate Agents has been helping the RNLI raise awareness of its fundraising events throughout the year, and is set to continue the link-up for the whole of next year too.

The company’s managing director, Jeff Stevens, said: “We have been doing all the marketing for its events, paid for its advertising and helped with printing and distributing leaflets.”

He highlighted how important the RNLI – which hopes to build a new Weston base in 2015 – is to the town, and said: “Being at the seaside they save so many people’s lives and, of course, there’s a lot of local people involved.

“There’s no funding from the Government, so it’s entirely funded from donations. The initial idea was to help them raise enough to get a new station up and running. I think they are nearly there now so we’re going to continue to help.”
