TRADING Standards is warning Somerset residents to be on their guard against scammers claiming to be from the council.
Telephone calls have been made to residents by people claiming to be from Somerset County Council, who then ask for personal information such as address and bank account details.
Trading Standards is warning anyone who receives a call not to pass on any personal or financial details, and urging people who believe they have been victims of the scam to contact their bank as soon as possible and report the call to the police.
