STUDENTS, staff and parents have been celebrating the centenary celebrations of their Portishead school.Past pupils, parents, teachers and the Sisters of La Sainte Union at St Joseph's School reminisced over lunch about the past 100 years. The celebrations culminated in a mass with Bishop Declan.Headteacher Lis Jeffery said: "The centenary year has been a reflection of the strong community of St Joseph's School and parish. The sisters of La Sainte Union have been an inspiration and source of encouragement to me since the opening of the new building."Their passion for the arts and spiritual growth shows the innovative philosophy held close to their hearts that education is life - not league tables."Our ever expanding curriculum demonstrates that the spirit of St Joseph's is as vibrant now as one hundred years ago.
