A school chef will compete for a culinary title in January.

Steve Fowell, who cooks school dinners at Mendip Green Primary School in Worle, will compete in the School Chef of the Year competition.

In the South West regional final, on January 11, he will be given £1.30 to spend on ingredients.

He will have to prepare a healthy and balanced main and dessert which would appeal to 11-year-old schoolchildren.
