A SOMERSET school has received a top award for its sporting prowess. Axbridge First School has been awarded the Activemark 2006 for the sports activities it provides.PE teacher Kellie Nash said: "The children love the activities we do. Every child does at least two hours of sport or aerobic exercise a week."The school runs dance and sports clubs and children perform a 'wake and shake' exercise every morning to stretch their muscles and prepare them for the day ahead. There is also a 'huff and puff' session during the lunch break, during which children can learn ball skills and play with some of the school equipment. The school has also arranged specialist talks to the children. Recently, a gymnast came into the school and showed off some of her moves. Kellie has co-ordinated sport at Axbridge for the last two years. She said: "We wanted to make sport a big part of school, and we are really pleased it has become such a huge success.
