Work is now progressing on the amalgamation of two infants and junior schools in Weston.North Somerset Council's executive agreed to start work towards the combining of Milton infant and junior schools and Bournville infant and junior schools.The council held public consultation days throughout November and December for both schools and the majority of governors and parents backed the proposals as the way forward for pupils.Bournville Community Infant School and Bournville Junior School will be closing and a new school opening in September 2008. A temporary governing body will be established in March to begin looking for a headteacher.Milton infant and junior schools are due to close at the end of this school year and the new amalgamated school will open in September.
